Configure additional namespace test accounts with the ENow Namespace Credential Utility

Purpose

How to use the ENow Namespace Site Credential Configuration Utility — commonly called the Namespace Credential Utility — to configure additional test accounts for the Mailscape namespace tests.

Background

The ENow Admin Console accepts only one set of namespace test credentials. If you want different namespace test accounts per site, the Credential Utility is how you add them.

Each additional account needs the same permissions as the primary namespace test account — check the current prerequisites for the roles and privileges the namespace tests require. An account without them will be accepted by the utility and then fail at test time.

Prerequisite

Namespace Site settings must already be configured in the ENow Admin Console for each namespace you intend to monitor. The utility matches credentials to namespaces by name, so a namespace that has not been staged cannot have an account assigned to it.

Procedure

1. On the Mailscape web server, locate ENowCredentialUtility.exe. The default location is:

   C:\Program Files (x86)\ENow\MailscapeWeb\ENowCredentialUtility\ENowCredentialUtility.exe

2. Right-click the file and select Run as administrator.
   
3. On the Namespace Credentials screen, click Add.
   
4. On the Enter New Credential screen, complete all fields:
   • Namespace Name — the name of a namespace already staged in the ENow Admin Console
   • User Principal Name — the UPN of the additional namespace monitor account
   • Password — that account's password
5. Click OK to return to the main screen.
6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each additional namespace test account.
   
7. Confirm every required account is listed, then click Save to write the configuration and close the utility.
8. Open services.msc and restart the ENow Namespace Monitor service.

The restart in step 8 is required — the service reads the credential configuration at start-up, so the new accounts are not used until it restarts.

Tested with the version of the utility that ships with EMS 7.13.1.244. The procedure should apply to earlier versions as well.
