Remove a server from the Admin console through config files
It is recommended that Support assists customers with these steps as deleting the wrong servers could interrupt monitoring on critical servers.
Purpose
This KB article contains steps for removing Servers from the Admin Console through config files. This can be useful when
• You are unable to remove a Client Server (Exchange, Domain Controller, etc.) from the ENow Admin Console through the GUI, or
• You have multiple servers to remove at one time.
It is recommended that Support assists customers with these steps as deleting the wrong servers could cause the interrupt monitoring on critical servers.
Procedure
The Enow Client can be manually removed through first removing the Enow Client from the Server, and then editing three configuration files.

On the Client Server you wish to remove, navigate to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel

Uninstall the ENow Client from the Server. This completes the tasks on the Client Server.

On the ENow webserver, Open IIS Manager and stop the MailscapeAppPool

In Windows Explorer, and open the ENow Database\Properties folder
o The default location for this is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ENow\MailscapeWeb\MailscapeData\Database\Properties -
In the Database\Properties folder delete all folders with names matching the clients that are being removed.

In the Database folder, open the Authenticate.txt file with a text editor (such as Notepad).
o The default location for this file is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ENow\MailscapeWeb\MailscapeData\Database\Authenticate.txt -
Delete any lines that list the server names that are being removed.

Save and close the file.

In the Database folder, open the Authorized.txt file in a text editor.

Delete any lines that list the server names that are being removed

Save and close the file.

In the Database folder, open the Catalog.xml file in a text editor.

Locate and delete any that contain the server names that are being removed.
Example: To remove the Server "Riverside Exchange 2016", delete the entire line including theandtags, as highlighted in the screenshot -
Save and close the file

Open IIS manager and start the MailscapeAppPool
Once these steps are complete the affected servers should not longer be listed on the One Look Dashboard.

ENow Software has confirmed these steps in EMS 7.13 CU1 (7.13.1.232). These steps will work in all versions 7.12 and later.
